Aerial shots show how the University has grown through the years. The first photo shows the fields around Falmer before any building took place, while the second shows the core Basil Spence-designed buildings in the 60s, and the last shows the University in its current form.

University of Sussex laboratories old and new. The figures concentrating intensely in these 1960s photos are contrasted with the hustle and bustle of modern Physics labs at the University.

Graduation through the ages. Students are pictured here in 1963, 1983 and in the last few years – haircuts and fashions may have changed, but the young people remain just as pleased to receive their degrees from the University of Sussex.

Rocking and rolling at the University of Sussex. Musical greats like The Who and Jimi Hendrix once played on campus.
