Sian Hampton has been appointed CEO for Venturers Trust, starting in January 2019. Currently CEO of Archway Trust in Nottingham, Sian is a qualified Ofsted inspector with 30 years’ experience in the education sector.

She has a reputation for successfully transitioning schools into multi-academy trusts and introducing effective communication across schools. Under her leadership of Archway Trust, Sian took the third worst performing school in the country from Special Measures in 2014 to Good in 2017. Central to her leadership strategy has been a focus on developing an ethos where all children are valued, students are not permanently excluded, and where diversity is celebrated and respected.

Chair of Governors for Venturers Trust, Trevor Smallwood, said: “Sian has a clear vision for the future of the Trust, based on working to harness the potential of every school for the benefit of all staff, students and their communities. Alongside a proven ability to successfully lead an ambitious and growing Trust, Sian shares our commitment to place the future of young people at the heart of everything we do.”

Venturers Trust, founded in 2017, is responsible for eight academies, 3,200 pupils and 700 staff, comprising primary, secondary, all-age schools and a special school. Its sponsors are the Society of Merchant Venturers and the University of Bristol.

“I am delighted to be joining Venturers Trust as CEO,” said Sian. “In particular because the Trust is fully committed to improving opportunities for all the children. I very much look forward to getting to know the children and staff in every school across the Trust. At its heart, education should enable all children to fulfil their potential, no matter what their starting point in life and I embrace the opportunity to lead a Trust whose mission is to make education a transformational journey for every child.”
