The awards, an annual event since 2012, recognise the achievements of those working in higher education commercial and residential services.

The CUBO awards showcase a range of services all dedicated to delivering an excellent student experience, from catering and housing to retail and sport, alongside many other areas of the campus experience. The awards have helped to raise the profile of both winners and entrants among key stakeholders, including Vice-Chancellors and university governing bodies.

Sharing innovation and best practice is a key element of the CUBO Awards and our judges were not disappointed with the breadth of new ideas and skills shown throughout the categories. Stewart Ross, Chair of the judging panel commented:

“The CUBO Awards are a gold standard for colleagues providing commercial and business services within higher education.  Every year competition is fierce to make the shortlist and the judging panel were genuinely delighted by the range of submissions and the impact the work colleagues are doing in their institutions is having.  These awards recognise work that reach right into the heart of student and staff experience on campus and beyond and the panel commends all those shortlisted for the excellent work they are doing.”
